The Department of Civil Engineering was started with a sanctioned intake of 40 in the year 2006. The annual sanctioned intake was increased to 60 in the academic year 2009-10 and further increased to 120 in the academic year 2011-12. The department aims to enrich the knowledge of students in both theory and practice with a team of highly qualified faculty with rich experience in the diversified streams of Civil Engineering. The department of Civil Engineering is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratory facilities having advanced equipments and machineries operated by experienced technicians.

The department plays a vital role in training the students through in-plant training and industrial visits to tackle the field associated problems arising in the industry. As a part of exchange of knowledge, the department is keen in inviting experts from reputed organizations to share their knowledge and experience with Civil Engineering students to motivate and enlighten them. Students are encouraged to actively participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities in reputed institutions all over India and will be suitably rewarded by the management.

The department Placement cell conducts various placement activities such as mock interview, refresher courses on subjects relevant to the industrial requirements, certified value added training on latest software like MS Project, Primavera, Open Source GIS etc., at the department level in addition to various training programs organized by the department of T&P

The department actively involves in Research activities and industrial consultancy works with various firms and industries in and around the city. The department organizes National Conference titled “Latest Advancement in Civil Engineering” every year starting from 2010. The department organizes Short term training programs, Faculty development programs, workshops, Seminars, Value added training program, and Invited lectures etc. as a part of continuing education for enhancement and up gradation of faculty’s knowledge. Faculty members are encouraged to pursue higher studies and sponsors to participate in various Quality improvement training programs.

Every academic year Civil Engineering Students Association activities will be inaugurated by eminent personalities in the field of Civil Engineering. The department organizes National level Technical Symposium, “Colosseum” every year as a part of Civil Engineering Students Association activities. Students from various colleges all over India take part in various technical events of the symposium. A variety of activities like intra department competitions on paper presentation, technical quiz, Poster design, model making, CAD design, Mini project etc will be arranged every year as a part of Association activities.
