Dr. K.A. Mohamed Junaid is an illustrious Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, R.M.K. Engineering College. He has a wide experience in Teaching, Research and Administration for more than 31 years. He earned his Ph.D Degree under the Faculty of Information and Communication Engineering, Anna University, Chennai in the area of Image Processing and Networks. He holds Masters Degree in Power Electronics from College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University, Chennai and Bachelors Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. He started his teaching career from a reputed Technical Institution as a Lecturer in the year 1988. Then, he served as a Lecturer (Senior Grade), Assistant Professor and Professor & Head in a reputed Engineering College from 1991-2005. He has been working in R.M.K. Engineering College since 2005. He has held various administrative positions at R.M.K. Engineering College including Vice-Principal and Chief Warden of Hostels. He was instrumental in bringing Outcome Based Education.

Prof. K.A. Mohamed Junaid is a dynamic leader holding various positions in State University and Central Government Bodies. To mention a few, he is the Academic Council Member and Standing Committee Member of Anna University, Chennai. He is also Peer Team Member and Evaluator of NAAC. He has been elected as a National Executive Member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), New Delhi for the term 2020 to 2024. He is a Governing Council Member of R.M.D. Engineering College and R.M.K. Engineering College. He was the Organising Secretary for Smart India Hackathon 2018 (Software Edition) Grand Finale held at R.M.K. Engineering College (One of the Nodal Centres for SIH 2018). He was also the Organising Secretary for Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) - Innovation Ambassador Training Series Organized by IIC – MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC) which was hosted by R.M.K. Engineering College.

He has actively collaborated with researchers in several disciplines of Electronics, Communication and Instrumentation, including Bio Medical Image Processing, Healthcare Instrumentation and Telemedicine. He has guided more than 30 UG projects and 10 PG Research projects. He has published over 14 papers in refereed International Journals and presented more than 25 papers in International and National conferences in India and abroad.

He is a Lifetime Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), New Delhi, Bio-Medical Engineering Society, Instrument Society of India, and a Member of International Association of Engineers as well The Institution of Engineers, India. He was awarded as the 'BEST STAFF OF ECE’, during the year 1997 and 1998. He has received “Partners in Excellence” Award from Mitsubishi Electric India Private Limited at Automotive Forum held during 2015. He has received the TISLA Ambition and Achievement Award of “Dr.Abdul Kalam Eminent Leadership Award” from The Institution of Engineers, India. He has also received the “Kalam Vision 2020 Award” from All India National Development Conference and Sister Nivedita 150 Years Birthday Celebrations.

He has organized several FDPs, National and International Conferences/Workshops sponsored by AICTE, Anna University, CSIR and various industries. He is a Member of Advisory Committee of core industries to provide consultancy activities including Technical Lecture, workshops, consultancy and R&D project guidance. He also holds the position of Editorial Board Member, Technical Committee Member and Research Advisory Committee Member in various organizations, NBA, AICTE, Anna University and other universities.
