About the College
R.M.K. Engineering College (RMKEC), located at Kavaraipettai, was
established in the year 1995 with the objective to provide quality in Technical
Education by offering research and training facilities in various branches of science and
technology at undergraduate and post- graduate levels, to inculcate a sense of
discipline among the youth to mould them into competent and talented engineers.
The College is a recipient of the national award "Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan" for having the over all performance among various Engineering
Colleges in the year 2008 by Indian Society for
Technical Education. The College has been awarded the 'Clean and Green Campus'
by the Rotary Club of Chennapatna for the very clean, green and beautiful campus
providing an excellent ambience for learning. The college has been ranked among
India's top 100 Engineering Colleges by Silicon India and Outlook. RMKEC
has been ranked among top 20 Engineering Colleges by AICTE - CII. Career
360 has given AAA status to our college among 1000 best Engineering
Colleges in India.
About the Department
The department was started in the academic year 2006-07 with a vision to enrich the knowledge of students in both theory and practice with a team of highly qualified faculty with rich experience in the diversified streams of Civil Engineering. The department of Civil Engineering is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratory facilities having advanced equipments and machineries operated by experienced technicians. Since its inception the department is showing consistent growth in academics and placements. The department is carrying out consultancy works in the following areas: Testing on all the building materials, Soil investigation , Water quality testing, concrete mix design etc.
