Project Expo for III Year (2021-2025 Batch) IoT Domain students was organized and conducted by Dept., of Electronics and Communication Engineering, wherein student projects were reviewed by Mr.Sriram Sampath Kumar, Proud Alumnus 2005-2009 Batch, Senior Manager-AI/ML and IoT Architect, Fidelity Investments, Chennai and Mr.D.Vijayaraghavan, Proud Alumnus 2011-2015 Batch, IoT Architect, Winomechanic Pvt. Hands-On Workshop in Robot Operating System-2

A Hands-On Workshop in Robot Operating System-2 (ROS2) for Beginners was conducted successfully by Dept., of electronics and Communication Engineering, where, Mr.K.B.Kabilan, NVIDIA Certified University Ambassador gave useful insights and practical sessions for II year (2022-2026 Batch) IoT Domain students, on 12-April and 13-April 2024.

Parent-Teachers Meeting

Parent-Teachers Meeting was conducted for II year (2022-2026 Batch) and III (2021-2025) year students, inviting parents to meet all faculties and to know their respective wards’ academic performances. Dr.T.Suresh, Prof and HoD/ECE Dept., addressed parents and guardians with steps required to improve students’ performance, followed by counsellors discussing with parents along side with their wards, on 16-March-2024.

Project Demonstration by IoT Domain Students

Project demonstration for IoT domain students was conducted successfully, where ECE III Year IoT domain students excellently showcased their IoT based working project prototypes to Mr. Bhaskaran Thiyagarajan, Senior delivery Manager and Mr. Sam JV Raja, Lead Application Engineer, Johnson Controls India (JCI) Pvt., Ltd., who gave their valuable feedback for all student batches, on 29-January-2024.

Dr.K.K.Sivagnana Prabhu, Dean/ Center for Career Development, accompanied by Dr.T.Suresh, Professor and HoD/ECE Dept., Dr.J.Jasmine Hephzipah, ASP/ECE Dept., and Ms.S.Rosaline, AP/ECE, visited Nippon Electric Company (NEC) Corporation, Chennai, as a part of establishing 5G Test-Bed, on 05-September-2023.

ECE Students’ Association was inaugurated, inviting Mr.A.Prince Jeswin, Technical Delivery Manager, Visteon Technical Center as Chief Guest, to deliver the Inaugural Address, presided by Dr.K.A.Mohamed Junaid, Professor and Principal, R.M.K. IIC Innovation Contest at ECE Department

Institution’s Innovation Council of R.M.K. Engineering College, organized a Innovation Competition – An Institute Level Innovation Competition 2023, @ ECE Dept., wherein students from different departments presented their ideas. The contest was organized by Mr.A.Darwin Nesakumar, AP/ECE Dept., along with other ECE Staff members acting as jury , on 28-August-2023.

Inauguration of RF and Microwave Laboratory in Ground Floor of ECE Department

RF and Microwave Laboratory situated at the ground floor of VR Block, ECE Dept., was renovated and inaugurated by Staff Members of ECE Dept., along with college office staff, on 23-August-2023.

Action Plan Presentation Meeting of ECE Department

The action plan meeting was convened with the introductory note by Dr.T.Suresh, Professor and HoD/ECE Dept., R.M.K. Engineering College, followed by the Action Plan presentation of for the forthcoming semester. and was successively followed by address of Dr.K.A.Mohamed Junaid, Professor and Principal, R.M.K. E-Yantra Meet at Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology

Mr.K.Vijay Anand, ASP/ECE Dept., attended e-Yantra meet, where “Student Innovators for Local Disruption – Turning Problems into Opportunities” – a talk delivered by Dr.Kavi Arya, Professor CSE Dept., IIT Bombay and Principal Investigator of e-Yantra, and had a healthy discussion with him and confirmed his technical support for one credit course similar to NPTEL in Embedded Systems, IoT and FPGA, on 27-July-2023.

Workshop on Advances in Optical Communication organized by IITM

Dr.R.S.Ganesh, ASP/ECE Dept., attended the Workshop on Advances in Optical Communication, Organized by IIT Madras under the aegis of Department of Telecommunications. The various sessions on “Transceiver Technology-Current and Future Trends”, “Advances in Optical Fiber Technology”, Radio Over Fiber for 5G/6G and Satellite Communication”,” FSO and LiFi- Open Problems and Implementation Challenges”, “Photonic Integrated Circuits and Interconnects” were handled by IIT Experts, Foreign University Experts and Industry Professionals., on 22 and 23-July-2023.

Telecom CoE Students Internship in 5G and 6G Technologies

Around 3 students belonging to Telecom Centre of Excellence [CoE] of ECE Dept., R.M.K. Engineering College, received Laptops from NEC Corporation India Pvt. Ltd. for carrying out their internship in 5G and 6G Technologies for a period of 2 months in hybrid mode, on 30-June-2023.
