B.E.- ECE 1995-1999 Batch, General Manager, Mobile Protocols, Samsung R and D Institute, Bangalore, India.Imparting high-quality technical education has been the dedicated mission of the founders of this institution. They have invested so much in the campus infrastructure, Lab facilities and faculty development, that any student who wants to become an engineer of fine quality will be very much benefitted.
Personally speaking, this college has provided me the ambience to nurture and bring out the best of my abilities for 4 years. I could clearly see the transformation in my capabilities and personality between the day I entered this campus and the day when I left it!
Mr. Kamalakannan Raja
B.E.- ECE 1998-2002 Batch, IBM Global Solutions, Seattle, United States. Vice President, R.M.K. Engineering College Alumni Association.I feel immense pleasure in writing about the College which I graduated from…. “RMK Engineering College”!
The college has always strived really hard to give the best education to students. The no compromise approach on ensuring all their students come out with flying colors have always been a key mantra to the management and staff members. Good laboratory facility always forms a key factor in determining the quality of engineering graduates graduating from the college. Private colleges in early 2000’s have always lacked in having good laboratory facility. But I can vouch that RMK has always provided us with an international standard lab facilities across all departments. The computer laboratory and the Library was one of the key highlights during my college days. RMK had the best facility compared to any other colleges in city.
I always feel education is not all about getting through the X number of theory papers and Y number of Lab exams. Most important factor a college should inject into each and every student is to teach them what Individual value is about for them to be competitive in this world of “Survival of the Fittest”! RMK has always ensured to teach the students on professional values which most of the students will realize only when they are pushed into the professional world. I definitely have to mention our Chairman Thiru. R S Munirathinam in this context. He was an excellent example & an admirable role model for others on how by following good values you can reach greater heights in both personal and professional life.
Success of any institution lies in the hands of knowledgeable and dedicated faculty. RMK has always ensured that it always had the best of the faculty members compared to other private colleges. I always felt they have always maintained the correct Students Faculty Ratio which is a key aspect in allowing their faculty to reach and teach to their fullest capacity. One more important aspect which I can vouch from my experience is the friendly nature of the faculty which helped me to reach out to them whenever I needed some help.
World is all about collaboration. So it is very important to lay a proper foundation for students on how to collaborate. With students coming in from all parts of the country it is important to give them an environment to break their shackles and make them come out of their shell to start collaborating with each other. RMK has the best of facilities to enable collaboration by having world standard seminar room facilities. They have also ensured their students collaborate with students from other institutions by organizing technical symposiums, international conferences and also by bringing in industry experts to share their experience with students.
Providing a pleasing environment is a very important catalyst in igniting brilliant minds. RMK has always been a paradise with world class facilities. The classrooms have always been spacious with good ventilation providing fresh air to keep everyone fresh throughout the day. With everyone today talking about going green, RMK have had this vision very early. I still admire the effort the college has put in to maintain the greenery in spite of the weather we have in Chennai. Graduating out of RMK it would be unfair if I don’t mention the quality of food we have been served all 4 years. It has been a feast each and every day of my college life. RMK have also had the best of Hostel facility with fully equipped GYM facility for the students to keep them fit. Good play fields add up to the beauty of the college. Safety is also an important factor considering the fact that our college remains the second home for every student. The management has always had high focus in ensuring all aspects required to ensure the safety of the students.
Education is not all about books and classrooms. Extra-Curricular activities form a major part in shaping a student in terms of developing his inter-personal skills. RMK has always been very supportive to its students by encouraging them to participate in all Intra & Inter College sports and cultural meets. A good auditorium and sports facilities has always been of its highest class to support this cause.
I have had the privilege to see the growth of the college from its early days. I thank our Chairman Mr. R S Munirathinam and our Late Chairperson Mrs. Manjula Munirathinam for making what the college is today. I am sure without them putting their heart and soul to the institution it would not have been a mere possibility on making RMK a world class institution.Mr. Ramesh Manni

B.E.- ECE 2001-2005 Batch, Assistant Commissioner, Income Tax, Bhubaneshwar-Odisha.I joined R.M.K Engineering College in 2001 as a shy, young village boy. My College changed my values, nurtured my character, gave me enlightenment about the vision of life and enhanced my extracurricular activities.
As a civil servant, I still admire the professionalism practiced in my college in managing the day to day affairs, dedicaton of my professors,well-maintained infrastructures (including sports facilities, transport and mess) and the encouragement given for student’s innovation.
For me, R.M K Engineering College provided the platform to enter into Indian civil service and this divine opportunity to serve our Nation. My College taught me a unique mantra, “If you cannot enjoy the journey (learning), you can never enjoy the destination (life)!” I got this real enjoyment from my RMK! So have a joyful ride to reach a delightful destination!

B.E.- ECE 2003-2007 Batch, District Revenue Officer (DRO), Chennai Corporation.Dear All
I was a student of RMK College in Electronics and Communication branch from 2003 to 2007. I entered State Civil Service as Deputy Collector in the year 2009 and am presently working as District Revenue Officer (DRO) at Chennai Corporation.
I feel really proud and enthusiastic about My College which not only gave me the knowledge but also enforced discipline, boosted my morale and incorporated the courage in me to face the competitive world. More than academic performance, a College has to catalyze a student to become a successful person both professionally and personally. No doubt my college has prepared me to face my career and the life outside it. I thank the management and faculties who showed the path for my success.
I convey my best wishes to my almamater for their future Endeavours!

B.E.- ECE 2003-2007 Batch, Market Strategy Consultant, MarketRx Inc.An Engineering Degree is the first step one takes towards professional life. After being pampered all life about being a champion at home, this was for the first test for hostellers like me to see how we fared in ‘away’ conditions. I was as much apprehensive as an Indian cricket team touring the likes of England and Australia. I hated it, but I was compelled to take the challenge, and there I was somewhere on a hot August afternoon bidding goodbye to my parents after the induction function getting back to the hostel, what seemed to be the longest walk of life thus far, despite being amidst a lush green, calm and serene atmosphere.
As expected, I struggled and struggled really hard initially. Everything was fine about the college, yet I was not at comfort playing my shots. I was looking like a batsman whose weakness was exposed and was living dangerously. But the presence of an awe inspiring figure in the form of our beloved Chairman eased things a lot. The way he cared for his students in similar lines to a father caring for his children made RMK a home away from home.
For four straight years, it was a grinding experience in RMK, surprisingly without much pain, thanks to the support and guidance of my Professors. I was performing well in academics, but they were not happy. They encouraged me into a flurry of activities; entrusted me with a number of responsibilities. I would at times have to give classes a miss. No worries about that, if I was struggling with academics I had professors who would go out of their way to ensure that there were no gaps there. Their point was clear – there is no point in just being academically sound; one needs to develop his all-round capabilities. I had already started to learn a number of lessons that were not part of my curriculum – leadership, time and resource management, communication and negotiation skills and the likes, importance of which I would realize only upon entering the corporate world.
Every time I was successful, they celebrated my success as though it was their own. When I failed, they ensured it was nothing more than a stumble enroute success. They clearly became pillars to my success, as much as my parents were and in four years’ time they ensured they had made a product that would be well received in the corporate market. The product was made out of almost nothing!
Knowledge and skills are the most important things an engineering institute would be expected to provide to its students. RMK has stood the test of time and proven itself in this regard. So, coming to the lesser, yet, important hygiene factors – physical infrastructure, cleanliness of the environment, peer group competence, quality of food served in the mess and the likes – you name it and you’ll find that RMK setting the benchmarks for those parameters. If you by chance, happen to identify one in which the institute lags, all you need to do is to bring that to the notice of the management, and rest assured, it would be actioned upon immediately – and that willingness to spot problems and address them effectively has been the reason behind RMK’s rise to the top of the league.
In short, RMK Engineering College for sure is a world in itself, a world full of opportunities to make oneself a better individual, both personally and professionally. If one can just manage to compete and grab a few of these, it certainly could be a life changing experience, like it has been in my case.

B.E.- ECE 2003-2007 Batch, Director, Business Consulting, Ernst and Young LLP. Pvt. Ltd.It was sometime in August 2003, when 120 odd souls entered the hallowed corridors of the Vijayaragavulu Naidu Block of RMK engineering College to pursue to the “In Degree”- Electronics and Communications.
At that stage, I met people who were from a completely different background than me. For 4 years, we laughed together, studied together, played together and literally became family. We would stand up for each other, do group studies for one common goal- make sure that we do not fail the feared Anna University exams. We all had one thing in common though-We all wanted to enjoy the 4 years of college because this period would never come back. And enjoy we did.
The 4 years not only had a lot of academic learning but also a lot of learning about life as well as I personally grew as a person. Personally, I will not forget a lot of our professors who shaped us- Prof. Rao, our then HOD was perhaps the foremost person among all the professors who helped shaping us as human beings not just as engineers or professionals. I would also not forget all the professors who supported me through all the semester results when I had to submit my papers for revaluation 6 times in a row (I passed every time by the way) because my handwriting always made sure that I did not get the marks I deserved. I would never forget that this institution gave me some friends who are friends forever.
I always felt I would forget the institution after I left but I realized breaking the bond from the institution was not possible when I flew down from Mumbai every year in my early years just to meet everyone on our Alumni meet. I have since attended a lot of my alumni meet’s and everytime there is a sense of connect with the institute.
I have done another degree in another institution after Engineering but somehow the bond with the people and the institution seems to be so much stronger with RMK. I don’t know why perhaps because we were not selfish at the age of 17-18 when we entered RMK. Perhaps it is because we spent the formative years of our life in this institution. I don’t know the reason and maybe I’ll never know. I have since come back to my alma mater repeatedly speaking to the fresh minds and I am always blown away by the quality and the discipline and the sheer warmth I get from the institute.
It feels like yesterday that all of us filled with emotions walked out of the corridor with degrees in hand. I can’t believe it has been 16 years since we moved away. It somehow feels that even though we left there is a small thread somewhere that pulls us towards the institution – our alma mater. I would always be open to give anything for this institute in any capacity the institute would want me to contribute

Change is a part of life. Wise men have said that one must go along with the tide. If you stagnate, you will drown. I realized this only after joining the corporate sector. Let me take you through this journey.
I joined this college as a 17yr old girl, Fresh out of school. With so many doubts and inhibitions, I stepped into our college. But it was not a radical change. I was able to adapt and handle it well, because the ambience provided in our college was extremely comforting and supportive.
Right from boarding the bus to getting dropped off near home, I was nicely pampered and well taken care of. The driver of my bus-#42, Mr.Natarajan treated all of us like his own children and took special efforts to make sure that we are all comfortable. Regular assignments, drillings in the form of unit tests, retests, lab practises, 100% attendance, seemed absurd. I Initially thought of it to be an extension of school, but only later on I realized the significance of it during semester exams. It actually fine tuned my academic skills. My friends in other colleges faltered miserably whereas I did consistently well in all my semesters thanks to the regular assessments. So it was not exactly a metamorphosis for me at college.
4 yrs of engineering actually seems to be a cakewalk now compared to what we are put through in the company. The first difference, i noticed was the mode of transport to the company. It is such a pain to take 2-3 buses to reach my destination. And every morning this thought gets intensified because i see our vibrant yellow coloured RMK buses plying on the road. It makes me want to wave out to everyone in our college bus, just like how little kids do at signals.
Another major difference is the spoon feeding. At RMK we were drilled to study whether we were interested or not. But here, its upto you.If you want to perform well, it’s good for you. If you decide to perform badly, its good for the company because they can always chuck you out and save money by replacing you with somebody more deserving. So the perennial fear of being chucked out if the performance dips, runs through all our minds.
How i miss the food…Biriyani, pongal and the special treat on Chairman and Director’s b’day..Yummy Yummy..Silently, i envy all the juniors who get to binge on Tuesdays and Wednesdays’ miss the pista ice cream and the raita served on Saturdays..I actually pondered over the idea of coming to college with a lame excuse just to eat.
Its been just over a month since i started working .Within this short span of time itself, i am feeling this void in my life. I miss college so much. I now repent for every single thought about bunking college that i had during those 4 yrs. Times change, People change, Circumstances change ;but good old memories never do.I am glad that I was a part of RMKEC and I shall cherish those memories in my heart forever. Hail RMK !

B.E.- ECE 2006-2010 Batch, Junior Software Engineer, Steria India Private Ltd. R.M.K. Engineering College Alumni Website Designer.Feedback about the Department:
Electronics and Communication Engineering Department is the entry to learn the world of Electronics. I joined RMK, to explore the knowledge in the field of Electronics. Our Department laid a very good foundation in me for the various subjects in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering. We learned from the alpha (base) of Electronics to the control of ROBO’s. We had excellent laboratory facilities because of which I did my innovative project, Fault Detection in Hot wire (Electrical wire) using GSM in Embedded System domain in the department itself. But all this would not have been possible without the help of our dedicated faculty members and laboratory assistants in various domains. It was altogether a wonderful experience of learning throughout the 4 year course, the memories of which I would cherish forever!
Our ECE department in RMK is a place where Dreams are realized, Destinations are reached& Milestones are set!
About College:
I am proud to say that I am a RMK student because my college played a vital role in shaping my Character and Career! Starting from hospitality, food, transport to good education, our college provided me with an amicable environment. We had an excellent infra structure, laudable laboratories, commendable computer center and an inspiring library, which was my favourite placeJ Our college library had a creditable collection of Books, Journals, Magazines, etc., It was a real treasury of all knowledge! That is the place where my career in Website Designing started! I got whatever books I needed for building my website designing skills. But what about practical experience? The computer center which was open round the clock was my training field to try out my theoretical knowledge, to put my hands&mind into action! I learned lots and lots of software tools to quench my thirst in website designing. Now whatever skills I have, I owe it to my institution because it provided me the perfect environment to nurture and grow!

B.E.- ECE 2006-2010 Batch, System Engineer, TATA Consultancy Services Pvt. Ltd., R.M.K. Engineering College Alumni Website Designer.Feedback on college:
Now I am very much happy with my job ,my life and everything! It’s just because of “R.M.K”. It indeed would have been very difficult for me to get in good company without my college and my Chairman, Director, Vice-Chairman, Professors, Hod sir’s and everyone’s help.
Life does change a lot! When i first entered R.M.K, it is not something unexpected. It is expected of you to put in long hours, studying, writing exams. But, i learnt discipline, punctuality, culture, moral values and to be honest after joining “R.M.K” i became a perfect human being.
The most important thing is that you realize that how easy it is to get a job in “R.M.K” and how difficult it is to get one when once you come out from college. You really need to slog to get one.
Feedback on Department:
First of all I am very proud to be a student of “R.M.K” in particular to be a Student of “E.C.E” department.
Really H.O.D sir, Sheeba madam, Kumaresan sir, Jothi madam, Prathipa madam, Joel sir, Babuji sir and all my professors all supported me a lot in hard times that i faced in & during exams.
In fact all forgot their respective designations and used to teach when we have any doubts in subjects as much as possible. They used to spend more time in college to solve our problems regarding any issues in friendly manner. In particular for me all used to teach all the subjects where i get doubt which helped me to secure a good rank in Gate.
All in all, the rigorous studying, the cultured environment, the best food and my department! I would cherish all my life.

B.E.- ECE 2006-2010 Batch, Engineer, HCL Pvt. Ltd.,I completed my undergraduate degree with a major in Electronics and Communication Engineering from R.M.K Engineering College, located in the heart of lush green Kavaraipettai, (most greenery part of Tiruvallur District). I chose to study here because the College stood out above the rest and great reputation in the midst of other competitors (disguised rivalries!!!).
In RMK, I loved the Infra-structure, admired the ever helpful staff members and I liked the hands-on approach rendered for the courses because it has taken my learning beyond theory. I learnt to apply my knowledge through experiences like giving presentations, working in teams, and active involvement in our tutorials. I felt better prepared to get into the workforce because of it. I also like the real-life examples used by our lecturers in their teaching and the fact that lectures are held twice at different times.
I belong to the prestigious 2010 ECE BATCH of RMK. We have an interactive platform with links to course notes, student contacts, discussion forums, etc., which worked really well.
Our Faculty invests a lot in students; they really looked after us. I loved the environment there – the College was centrally located and has beautiful green parks and great places to relax and sumptuous meal on time. I’ve met so many nice people there. The experience I had in our RMK has broadened my horizon and really changed my view about many things.
My counsel to prospective students is that, when you come to R.M.K Engineering College, don’t be afraid to venture out and join scholastic clubs and societies, wherein, will make you to come out from being dogmatic. You will experience living amongst people from vernacular regions and make lifelong friends. Joining RMK was the best decision I’ve made so far.

B.E.- ECE 2006-2010 Batch, ECE Alumni.MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!
Hi friends. I thank everyone for giving me this opportunity and feel elated to share my Project Experience with all of you.
There were three members in a team. My team was a really a jovial team. And my project preparation was really filled with lot of fun & frolic. I am a lucky person to get my close friends as my project members. To be frank, until my final semester I have not even done one mini project.
The first perplexity was to select a particular stream for my project on which I had to work for the next few months or at least a year.
In my final year, we had to select from VLSI, DSP, Microprocessor, DIP, and Robotics. I was interested to take up my project in VLSI though my team members were more keen on taking up DSP projects.
After a great confusion, we selected DSP. We decided to implement an IEEE paper. OMG!!!, finally we selected Speech Enhancement process.
Initially, we didn’t have any clue about what was Speech Enhancement. Finally we decided to attend DSP training in IIT, Chennai. Two of us attended it for two weeks though it all went in vain. We were not discouraged even then, because “every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward”.
All our professors devoted lot of time and energy to help students in developing their confidence. One of our professors inspired me to take my project to the next level when we were in a big confusion. We also got help from the Professor of the professors-the Lord Almighty! He helped us to think and work out this project successfully. He helped us in every step forward. We got assistance from our college professors and an IIT professor .We referred many books and websites related to speech Enhancement.
We struggled and strived a lot to bring the expected output.
Still I wonder how that really happened???!!!!But, at the end, we succeeded in implementing our logic and brought out the expected result! Mission Accomplished!.
Whatever challenges exist now can be turned into valuable lessons and opportunities for personal growth and long term happiness!!!!!!
Wishing all the best for all your future endeavors.

B.E.- ECE 2007-2011 Batch, Assistant Commandant of Police, Indo Tibetan Border Police, Ministry of Home Affairs.Hi to all
Am Selvaganapathy.R, 2011 batch, ECE. First am glad to get a invite for our RMK alumni meet 2015! Thanks to our dedicated management and alumni directors & members.
I feel proud that I studied in RMK Engineering College. It is not only the institution where engineering education is nurtured, but also it is the place where good character is inculcated in the younger minds. During my college days, like other students I too hated the stringent college rules and regulations but when I finished my graduation and entered to real world I realized that the experience I got in RMKEC and the moral values I learnt helped me to shine in my life. Hereby I thank Thiru. R.S.Munirathinam sir for providing me with an excellent environment for education, hygienic food and moral support.
And my special thanks to Mr. R.M.Kishore(Vice Chairman), Dr. R.Sivakumar(HOD), Mr. Joel, Mr. Joshua Kumaresan , Mrs. Chitra, Mr. babuji, and all my faculty members for molding me into a responsible citizen.
Kallam Sudharshan Reddy
B.E.- ECE 2007-2011 Batch, ECE Alumni. My greatest part of growing up in life is making the right choices that benefit me in the future .Youth is that phase of life where our dreams are built & bright future is foreseen. The idea for my bright future is to get an education so that I can choose a suitable career, have a hope, and reach my goals. Me & My parents were in search of quality & moral educational institutions for my under graduation & made a right choice in this phase i.e. selecting a place having good discipline, punctuality, good developing skills, moral skills, technical stuff , loyal staff, hard working management. Later on when I was in the institution, I have faced different experiences in the institution.
My experiences in the institution-
The fundamental purpose of education is to gain knowledge. In our institute along with knowledge I have started thinking & implementing how to study, how to create opportunities, how to communicate & especially how to behave & respect. Here itself I have developed my confidential level from ground level to some considerable extent. The institute created environment by organizing national level symposium by the respective branch students & encouraged us to attend the symposiums, workshops & other activities. Even I took an opportunity given by our institute i.e. me & my friends together attended national workshop conducted by IIIT pune & also management gave financial refund for attending, this is an example that our institute encouraged us in that manner. These opportunities were given to us for developing technical skills.
The education to youth should give them a sense of social awareness. Our institution encouraged students to do social welfare programmes such as donating blood, funding to orphanages etc. when we were in the final year hostel, we formed a group & everybody joined hands for the cause. We have started this for the first time in our institute i.e. collecting money to orphanage & guided our juniors to do the same & continue. I felt proud in my life, for doing something to others as I was a part in cause. Even this I learnt from our institute. We have to thank even our management for supporting us.
Management plays very important role in our institution. Management provides the best food & maintains cleanliness. Management creates opportunities to every eligible student for their placement. Me & my friends, almost everybody got placed. This is the interest of management towards the students. This is what our institute is about, till now I have shared very few there are many more things about the institute. The institute that has these many characteristics is none other than RMK ENGINEERING COLLEGE. I whole heartedly say that I am from RMK.
“The final motto of an education is to create good human beings. I strongly believe that education in RMK makes career decisions and begin the pursuit of one’s goals & creates good human beings”.
Indumathy M
B.E.- ECE 2007-2011 Batch, Software Developer, TATA Consultancy Services Pvt. Ltd.Hi this is M.Indumathy. I am from a lower middle class family with the very common intention to carry the burden of my beloved father. I have completed my schooling in a very small school. In 12th I secured cut- off mark of 193.75 out of 200 and I got into R.M.K engineering college. When I entered into the institution for the very first time I was surprised to see such infra structure, green campus and off course food. If I didn’t secure mark in 12th, I would never imagine entering in such engineering college. Maybe I would have just completed some B.Sc course. With god’s grace and parents support finally I entered. The rules of R.M.K were very easy for me to follow because my school rules exactly matches with R.M.K. These rules are not only rules but also our culture. In the modern world our institution makes us to grow unique with good character and discipline. I was surprised to see our beloved chairman saying “vanakam” to each and every student on the very first day of our college.
In the first year I really tried to speak English for the very first time because we have to mingle with other state friends and staffs. And each and every day went with a new experience and challenge. I got a very good friend’s circle and I learnt how to make friends. In the second year I entered into electronics and communication department building and I thought it would be really hard to study and understand the stuffs but all the subjects were really interesting mainly all the communication related subjects were really good. And one real interesting thing in our college is there is no communication gap between student and staff. They ill convey their own experience and advices to student and also they ill try to fulfill our needs by conveying to higher officials to take necessary steps. Regularly our college is conducting counseling to students and also committee meeting. I have been counseling member for four times.
I wrote preliminary exam for Infosys campus connects then I was selected for that and I was the only girl from section A. This program went for two semesters and I was supposed to attend that after 3.00 p.m. and during that time I learnt how to manage the time because I ill go to my home nearly at 6.00 p.m. I have taken many seminar classes and I never left a single chance. That experience ill be so different because everyone ill note at what you are doing and we need to be perfect. I went for three implant training like BSNL, Doordharsan and southern railway. This training ill teach you how we should think like professionals. I have done a mini-project at the end of second year but to say the truth I have done it from project center. During that occasion I have decided to do my final year project in college. I have presented paper inside and outside the college. All these experience were great because experience makes a man perfect.
In my 3rd year, SMART training program was conducted to us for campus placement. I really thank our chairman for such program to us and he has organized many orientation programs for student carrier development. We went to eleven industrial visits and that helped me to experience the technology lively. We enjoyed each and every trip to industrial visit. We have organized symposium and I have organized circuit debugging. During collection of some question for the event, we learnt many new things which I never learnt before. I represented my department in the stage during the symposium. Staffs and friends appreciated me for the nice speech. It was a great complement for me to go ahead.
After the 7th semester exam we had only hard 10 days to prepare at home for the placement. Those 10 days we spend for material gathering and we ill solve problem together and many telephone calls to clear our doubt. And the day came for me i.e. on Dec 10 2010. Obviously TCS was the first company to come. After completing each and every round we had discussion of our experience with friends in the waiting hall. In the last round, for me it lasted for nearly 25 minutes, it was a pure H.R round. They asked me completely whatever I had written in my resume. So a good resume preparation is a must. My resume helped me enough to success that round; I was 1 among 268 to be placed in TCS. Overnight we have waited for the result. The result was announced round 1 a.m. and after that busses were arranged for us to go home. We all sat in the busses with a silence because many of my friends were not selected. Their pain really made me sad. During that time our chairman came to all the busses and gave sweets with his hands. It was a proud and touching moment. My father waited near the bus stand for me and I saw happiness and a beautiful smile on his face which I have never seen before. The next day he gave treat to the neighbors and office friends and he enjoyed a lot.
Our batch is really lucky because we are he first to have no entrance examination after 12th, we are the lasts to have non- semester pattern in first year, we are the last to have mark system also and the recruitment was huge during our period (2010-2011). In the final year nearly all eligible candidates were placed and we entered in the class room with full of happiness and enjoyment. No internal exams for last semester. That was more advantage for us, no pressure nothing, we spend lot of time in writing slam, chatting, enjoying etc. when we really felt bad in that last day of our college. But myself and my two friends were regular to college because we did our project in college. So we have to come to college regularly. For the very first time we entered the research and development center for doing project and many professors and staff members of my department helped and encouraged us to complete the project in time. We did our project in RECONFIGURABLE FFT PROCESSOR FOR TRANCEIVERS. This was new to us and very challenging experience too. We have done this project stage by stage and we went for SAMEER organization to know more about FFT. My friends became closer to me during the project period and we got nice time to spend with. Finally we presented our project and the external said that our project is very worthy and good one and she appreciated us. Then we got 200/200 for project. And our project was published in national conference “NVESCOM 2011”. Finally I have completed my graduation successfully. I always never want to miss the class and I got prize for full attendance from 2007-2011 in our college. I felt a professional growth in myself after four years. Each and every day of my college life is still very close to my eyes. I also became matured to deal with the problems and identify better solution. This is my college experience. Hope my experience will be useful for some of my juniors.

B.E.- ECE 2008-2012 Batch, Integration Engineer, Ericsson India Global Services Pvt. Ltd , Bengaluru.I started my journey in R.M.K as student in the ECE department. Four years of study at R.M.K as ECE student has been a fruitful learning experience which I will cherish in the days to come. Though having been stranded as a stranger in the ECE department initially, I found a lot of interesting avenues to explore. In short, engineering is all about exploring with zeal and curiosity, and I had access to it from the onset.
Having been fresh out of school, I had a lot of inhibitions about college life, especially the professors, ambience and above all how to deal with people professionally. My four years of stay in this institution has helped me understand not just science but also people. This is what I felt is the best learnt lesson from my college days.
A few days in to my second year, I realized that all my perceptions were baseless, and that there lay a pool of opportunities in front of me to learn, grow and have fun. The staff members of ECE department were a mix of people with different styles of teaching and work. Some followed the old school technique, which has stood the test of time, while some professors gave us the room to learn by our own which I feel gives me the confidence to learn things independently today.
An old maxim says “Curiosity is your best teacher, and your ability to see through things is the best lesson”. Having charted out some virtual plan for learning in college, during the early days, I was quick to jump upon every opportunity which was offered. The various training programs, industrial visits, guest lectures, paper presentations and mini project competitions, helped me to have a first hand on experience on the various crafts in engineering.
A unique quality which I find to be really appreciable in our staff is their courage, to stand by us through the thick and thin of our college days. I have witnessed instances where, the staff members have had more faith in us than ourselves. It is this epitome of dedication which has helped propelled our career forward.
The facilities provided in the department were on par with the set benchmarks for facilities required for the wholesome grooming of talent in an institution. The various laboratories, department library and the support from our staff on learning concerns were far above the expected levels.
Everyone carries a suggestion and I am no different. I feel that RMK stands as a perfect example for one of the best places in the country to pursue engineering, with facilities and support on par with global standards. “Innovation is the need of the hour, and any place which fosters it becomes a temple”. Our institution offers a broader scope for innovation through its various measures to inculcate and imbibe in my juniors the habit of innovation and excellence.

B.E.- ECE 2008-2012 Batch, Application Development Support Engineer, Amazon India Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru.Feedback on College:
Now I am very much happy with my job, my life and everything… it’s just because of “R.M.K”. It indeed, it would have been very difficult for me to get in good company without college and my Chairman, Director, Vice-Chairman, Professors, HOD sir and everyone’s help.
Life does change a lot! When i first entered the R.M.K campus… but it is not something unexpected. It is expected of you to put in long hours, studying, writing exams. But, i learnt discipline, punctuality, culture, moral values and frank to say after joining in “R.M.K” i became a perfect human being.
Really H.O.D sir ,Sheeba madam, Kumaresan sir, Jothi madam, Prathipa madam, Joel sir, babuji sir and all my professors all supported me a lot in hard times that I faced in & during exams.
In fact all forgot their respective designations and used to teach when we have any doubts in subjects as much as possible. They used to spend more time in college to solve our problems regarding any issues in friendly manner. In particular for me all used to teach all the subjects where i get doubt which helped me to secure a good rank in Gate.
All in all, the rigorous studying, the cultured environment, the tasty food and my department…. something that I would cherish all my life.

B.E.- ECE 2009-2013 Batch, ECE Alumni. When Bachelor of Engineering students come to the final year, they are asked to do their Under Graduate projects. What exactly the University requires from us is that we students telecast our learning capability of the previous seven semesters and coordinate it into one final project. What is needed is your level of understanding and the amount of knowledge you gained.
But as we all know, there are many project centres to avoid this burden on students and they make our work easier. After completing your engineering you should put a question and ask yourself “What have I gained? “ Is it Knowledge? Is it discipline? Do I have enough skills? If you don’t get an answer for these questions then you should be sorry for yourself and for your parents, because it is they who have paid huge amount of money to make you gain something. So Final year project is the one which answers all those questions. So it should be our responsibility to take the task of completing a project rather that giving it to a project centre.
In a project centre , you pay a huge sum of money and make them to do your project , What we think is, our burden is reduced, but the Answer is “NO” because you pay a huge sum of money for them to gain knowledge and you dont develop some of yours. It’s so evident that they take more money from you and you know that it’s not worth that much money.
What do you gain by doing the project on your own? We gain what we call it as “PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE”! Its value can be understood only if somebody finishes their own in-house project. We also gain “RESOURCE MANAGEMENT”! If we are trying to complete projects on our own, we will try to reduce the amount of resources required for the project and thereby save money and resources. We also get to know “HOW TO DEBUG PROBLEMS”. This is a very important aspect, you will surely get many problems and the act of solving those brings out your personality to a far extent .You will also know “WHAT A TEAM IS?“and “HOW TO WORK INSIDE A TEAM “, you will start appreciating the work of others, which not only boosts their confidence but it does bring out your leadership skills. Finally the most important aspect you gain is “PERSONAL SATISFACTION” you can’t pay any money to get this, everyone including your parents, guide, teachers, friends and more importantly “YOURSELF” will be made proud.
Project can be big or small, hardware or software, nothing matters, all that matters is the effort you put in to gain something and telecast your university that you have learnt something from the previous seven semesters. So a humble request to all my juniors is: Do try and complete (NEVER GIVE UP!) your final year project on your own efforts and knowledge to make yourself and your respective department proud.

B.E.- ECE 2012-2016 Batch, Senior Cyber Security Engineer Ministry of Interiors, UAE Government, United Arab Emirates.RMK Engineering College is a best-known place for providing best in class education, placements in top MNC companies, better lab facilities, quality food, hygiene infrastructure and better transportation facility integrated with top safety. RMK is one of the colleges which as the separate blocks for each department and with strict rules, I can say following the rules in college is a good practice which help individuals to transform into disciplined human being. The major backbone of RMK is having the best lecturers with excellent English teaching skills. Another best part to highlight is that the additional skill development courses like CISCO certification training, British English certification training, various soft skill development trainings and live industry-based training. These training helps to perform well in interviews and to showcases the uniqueness of RMK’an to interviewers. Especially I would like to mention few points about ECE department, the staffs always reachable to clarify your doubts which motivates to perform better in semester exams, and they will put their efforts on conducting many technical competitions & mock interviews to students. In our department, we used to make a very good friendly relationship with the teaching and non-teaching staffs which gives us the freedom ask anything related to life! RMK never forget to treat the students respectfully. Also, RMK never forget to celebrate the old student of RMK like, RMK will conduct alumini meet every year to celebrate their proud.

B.E.- ECE 2015-2019 Batch, Product Manager, Hubstream India Pvt Ltd.The wise have said, “Experience is the best teacher”. I had the best of experiences at my college. I’m always ahead of the schedule even at work because of how we had been already trained to work/study within tight deadlines at RMK. It made me a better person with a more organized and well-structured work plan.
Regular practice of aptitude tests in the Skill rack Portal and the ranking paved the way to understand where we stand with respect to different students from various departments. The programming tutorials and hands-on practice in the Skill rack portal were very helpful to learn the basics of different languages like C, C++, Java, and Python.
I was placed as a software developer at Hubstream software through campus placements. I was then promoted to a Senior software development engineer and within months I was given the position of the Product Manager at Hubstream.
I need to thank the management for all the training programs that they offered. I also extend my gratitude to every professor who showed constant encouragement and support throughout my entire college life. I will forever remember the friendly teachers and their smiles.

B.E.- ECE 2020-2024 Batch, Firmware Engineer, E-Con Systems India Pvt. Ltd.It feels incredibly surreal for me to write a testimonial for my college. It’s because I’m the one who entered the campus with lots of dreams and was unaware of the path to accomplish them.
On my admission day, I was amazed by the green campus and the hospitality shown by our management. I still vividly remember the first day of my college when I happened to meet our Principal Sir and he wished me to reach remarkable feats. That moment gave me huge confident to kick-start my learning journey with R.M.K. Engineering College.
First year went completely online because of COVID. Despite the classes being virtual, our faculties gave their utmost effort. We began attending classes offline only in the second year. Being a hosteller, it was initially very hard for me to leave my home. Later, I realised how it feels to be surrounded by complete strangers, who quickly became good friends. I should thank the wardens who have taken care of us. We felt extremely secure under the care of our college, which is what most parents’ desire.
Numerous guest lectures were organised to enhance our interpersonal skills and provide insights into placement opportunities. I should mention “SKILLRACK”, a platform provided by our college, where I have learnt how to code. It was extremely useful during my placement preparation. Our college has fuelled me with confidence and taught me to overcome insecurities and all these factors collectively helped me out to land in a good package.
Amidst my placement process, I had a memorable moment with our Chairman Sir, he asked where I was from and what was the company I attended, and all of a sudden left his slippers and prayed for my success. I was completely awestruck with his humility and that was the moment of my entire college life.
Finally, I express my gratitude to our management for helping me in discovering my path to fulfil my dreams.
