B.E.- CSE 2009-2013 Batch Software Engineer, Search and Ads Engineering @ Google Headquarters, Mountain View, California, USA.RMK isn’t your regular Engineering College. The college preaches discipline over everything else which albeit annoying at first, helps foster a sense of responsibility and professionalism among the students in the long run.
The college provided me the best when it came to infrastructure and resources. For me personally, someone with the professional qualification for a faculty doesn’t make the cut. A faculty has to be understanding, and mainly approachable on top of being knowledgeable. I’m glad that I had such a wonderful team of teachers in my Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
Out of the regular coursework, the department fosters interest to learn/explore new fronts by conducting intra-department paper-presentation/ mini-project competitions which was a great initiative. Events like programming contests/ open-source software contribution/ software design and development helped us equip ourselves with the skills needed to survive/excel in the Industry.
My final year project sparked my interest in AI and more specifically Machine Learning. My Department was very supportive, understanding and patient throughout the course of my project. Our team also went on to bag the Best Project Award in the year 2013 for our project titled Predicting Cardiac Severity with RBF Neural Networks. Thanks to a good start, I realized my appetite for AI + ML and went on to specialize in ML for my Masters Degree.
I started off my career at Zoho Corporation, Chennai through our college placement with a good package @ 6.5L per annum and it was possible because the department was supportive of my interest in sport programming. They motivated me to prepare for State Level and National Level Algorithmic / Programming Contests, which helped me bag trophies + ace the interview. I went on to work here for almost two years before I left to pursue higher education from Arizona State University, United States.
I credit RMK for providing me with a wonderful experience building my fundamental computer science education.

B.E.- CSE 2007-2011 Batch Technical Lead, Order Management support BM Sustainability Software, Germany.I am here today purely because of what I learnt in RMKEC. The way the subjects were taught, the amount of attention the teachers gave to the subject is commendable. We learnt not just to get good grades but also to gain knowledge which I am now applying for my Masters study.
The college environment made it possible for me to decide upon my further career planning. Everybody- right from the bus driver, mess people, staff and the teachers helped and guided in every possible way to make my academic journey as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
Now as a masters student in another country, has been both cherish-able and difficult. The course, exams the way things are evaluated are completely different from what we faced in India. The competition on international level and studying with some of the best brains from across the world has definitely helped me discover the endless possibilities and in depth knowledge in the field of computer science, an extension to what I have learnt in Bachelors.Thank you.

B.E - CSE Batch: 2011-2015 Designation: Senior Data Analyst Company Name: UrjanetThe days I had spent in R.M.K. were the most precious in my life. I could never get those days back again. My first day was on 17th August 2011 and I still remember how inspirational the Chairman’s speech was. It was a new beginning. I felt really safe going to the College. It was like a second home for me and the faculty like a family. R.M.K. was like a shield protecting students from outside dangers and helping mould their lives for the best. People were always looking out for you, from the Chairman, Principal to the Professors. Professors stay back to ensure that we learn. When we get on the buses in the morning and see our lecturers reading to take classes for us, it really showed how dedicated they were and how much pains they’re able to bear just to teach us and clarify our questions. Bus drivers ensured that we reached safely and waited for until our Practical exams were over. Group studies with friends for semester exams were amazing. They taught me teamwork, time management, trust, friendship and patience. R.M.K tries so hard to get you placed in a reputed organization which not many Colleges take responsibility for and which could really be tough if one tries to apply by oneself. For the last semester, I got to do an internship with National Informatics Center which was a marvelous experience for me personally and professionally. R.M.K is for life. They treat their alumni with respect like you’re still studying. It really makes one feel good to know how encouraging one’s College is. The Principal, Computer Science department HOD and my Professors all helped me out when I had trouble retrieving the Alumna pass. The moral values and ethics taught along with our Engineering studies are what make students like us walk the right path in life always. We are really grateful to all our teachers. Their instant reply and following up till the issue was resolved really shows their concern over their Alumni. I am indebted to R.M.K., the Chairman, Principal, the Professors, admin team and bus drivers for helping individuals like me to be more moralistic and successful in life.
