The RMK Engineering College has taken up the Corporate Social Responsibility in serving the society through various social service activities involving the management, faculty members and the students.

The College has been trying to sensitize the student community on its social obligations and the need to exploit engineering and technology to social empowerment and development. Students are sensitized not only in local issues but also in various global social issues so that the students are developed as responsible citizens of the world.

The Chairman and Vice Chairman and some senior faculty members of the college are members of the Rotary Club of Gummidipoondi Industrial City and are taking up various service activities jointly.

Our Chairman, Vice Chairman & Secretary handed over Rs. 25 Lakhs to Chief Minister Jayalalithaa for the Chief Ministers Relief Fund as rehabilitation measures for the thane cyclone - hit victims.



A 12 days training programme was conducted during the month of November 2005 for the empowerment of women under the banner,”Building Skills of SHG (Self Help Group) Women in Establishing Information KIOSKS” by Prof.Vimala, HOD/Computer Center for the needy women at our campus with the collaboration of Anna University, Chennai. About 25 women from various walks of rural life participated in this programme and were benefitted.

125 Government School Teachers were given Training Programme regarding Computer Operating System – Data Entering and in DCA.



Each term PTA meetings are conducted regularly.
Rs.2, 00,000/- was given to Govt.Hr.Sec.School, Kavaraipettai for the Salary of PTA teachers.
Our management has constructed a New-block for Goudie Hr.Sec.School, Thiruvallur at the cost of 20 lakhs for the benefit of students community.
About 60 computers were given to various schools like Gengu Swamy Naidu School, Ponneri, Govt.HSS, Kavaraipettai, Govt. Boys HSS, Gummidipoondi, Govt. Girls HSS, Gummidipoondi,etc., for the benefit of students community.
Rs. 2,00,000/- was given to KLK Girls Hr.Sec.School, Gummidipoondi to upgrade as Higher Secondary School for the benefit of students community.



Every year R.M.K.Engineering College and Rotary club of Gummidipoondi Industrial city organizes blood donation camps at R.M.K Engineering College through L.L.M.R.F public charitable Blood bank. Around 200 to 300 students donate Blood during the camp.


To create awareness and to make India, a polio free country, Polio Eradication Programmes are organized and necessary funds are generously given for this divine cause.



The Interact Club of RMKMHSS, is known for its relentless contribution to serve the humanity. It plays a significant role in conducting awareness programme such as Aids, Literacy, Road Safety and Polio etc.

The mile stones of Interact Club are as follows:

The members of Interact Club took a role of volunteers in the District Olympiad and it was held at RMK Engineering College Ground in the year 2009.
To eradicate Polio from our country, the members of Interact Club took a dominant role in collecting money for Polio-Plus programme. The Principal, Staff and Students of RMKMHSS generously contributed nearly Rs.83, 000/- for Polio-Plus programme.
To create awareness on Road Safety, Interact Club members formed Human Chains in-front of RMKMHSS and distributed the pamphlets to the Road Users.
