1. END POVERTY AND HUNGER

Everyone knows how it feels. The stomach is empty and slowly it gives a signal of mild strange pain, then it grows each minute, the face starts to become dull, you could hardly do any physical activity, after an hour you’re unconscious and fall somewhere on the road.

Currently the more than 1.02 billion of the World population has the above mentioned ‘strange pain’ in their stomach as a daily routine. The breakup of the 1.02 billion hungry people is as follows:

Asia and Pacific 642 million hungry people
Sub-Saharan Africa 265 million hungry people
Latin America and Caribbean 53 million hungry people
Near East and North Africa 42 million hungry people
Developed Countries 12 million hungry people
Total 1.02 billion + hungry people

I have mentioned the ‘million hungry people’ term again and again each time in the table, in order to create an echo-effect in our ears and hope for stimulated action. Are we not responsible for keeping our brothers in Africa worshipping appetite each day? Their stomach feels the cruel pinch everyday.

Solutions??  Of course we have gone many steps forward in finding solutions to the universal hunger. But have we succeeded absolutely in implementing all our proposals? Obviously, not. Benchmarks and strategies are yet to succeed.

Example issues: Economic solutions may not be the perfect solution to eradicate universal hunger. You can buy with your money only if there is food to buy. So you got to produce food first.

FEW OF MY UNIQUE IDEAS OF SOLUTION :

Sea Weed Sap : An agricultural solution:

Kappaphycus alvarezii’ is a kind of seaweed which was found out to be a valuable resource and that it had huge demand in the food and cosmetics industry. Organisations such as AFI (Aquaculture Foundation of India) are conducting intensive R&D in Kappaphycus alvarezii and recently found out that the Sea Weed sap (juice of the sea weed) is a brilliant fertiliser for crops and it increases crop yield by almost 60% without causing any harm to the environment, being a 100% natural process. Though no results have been declared clearly, scientists still hope it would prove to be a treasure-maker.

Suppose sea weed is used as fertilizer and the crop yield is going to increase in more percentages then the application of sea weed as a recognised fertiliser in the entire Indian agriculture sector would increase the total crop production of the nation. And then we would have more surplus of food crops to give our brothers of other nations struggling for food, as charity.

2. CHILD HEALTH

In this advanced modern age with mind-blowing medical technologies, we still have kids in our land who die of diseases which they don’t even know what it is. A child born in a developing country is over 13 times more likely to die within the first five years of life than a child born in an industrialized country.

Example Issues:  Sources required to stop these tragic deaths of children of painful diseases are of course available. But they are not able to reach it. And we keep quiet at this irony. Journalists would do brilliant TV shows, documentaries and photographs, but they would not take a productive step forward to solve the issue.

Few of my unique ideas of solution :

  1. Free flow of funds from worldwide has to be regulated and utilized for the medication of these affected kids. Treatment should begin as soon as possible without any hindrance due to paper processes (Red Tapism). Hygienic steps have to be taken to prevent the spread of the disease to other children any further then.
  2. Medical societies and medical colleges in every country have to dedicate a separate department specially for the treatment for universal children affected by diseases.
  3. Instant food varieties of high nutritional standards and higher shelf life can be produced and export

3. MATERNAL HEALTH

We might not know, the wonder sleeping inside the lady’s belly might be the next Edison or Gandhi. And the poor lady who is carrying the little wonder is equally important for us. Save her too. According to a recent statistics from UN, more than 500,000 women in developing countries die every year in childbirth or during pregnancy.

Example issues:  The degree of assurance for the following issues has been reducing noticeably in the past few decades :

  • That the delivery will be a normal one without need for a surgical delivery.
  • That the baby will be delivered safely.
  • That the mother will be safe in health after delivery.
  • That the mother’s health will restore to normal position as she was before pregnancy, without any post-delivery health effects sustaining for her life-time. Eg. Ladies face continued trauma either mild or strong, life long if their’s was a surgical delivery. They face some side effect or the other.

Few of my unique ideas of solution :

  • Setting up of special service homes for pregnant ladies, provided with caretakers and all required facilities. The ambience and the resources of the home have to be designed according to researched results of how the physical atmosphere affects the foetus and the mother. Medical results say the physical atmosphere to which the pregnant lady is exposed to for the ten months of pregnancy influences the mental health and qualities of the baby inside.
  • Nutritious food supplement should be provided free of cost to pregnant women of all communities in the region, especially to pregnant of the poor families.
  • Effective awareness programmes about contraceptive methods have to be conducted.
