R.M.K Engineering college is a NAAC accredential ISO certified institution established by Shri.R.Munirathinam. The college is situated in a sylan environment and offers Under Graduated and Post Graduate courses in Engineering, Technology, Management and Computer Applications.
The institution has grown greatly and is recognized among the reputable institutions in Tamil Nadu within a short span of time because of the hghest degree of commitment and enthusiasm of the Staff and Management.
The institution disseminates Knowledge and entreprenurial skills among the students and strives to achive excellence in the field of technical, computer and management education. The college is one among the top colleges in Tamil Nadu and ranked 84th among all IIT's, NIT's and other top institution in the nation by NIRF, conducted by MHRD.
The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2006 with a sanctioned intake of 40 students. Introducing various advancements throughout the years, the department now has a capacity of 120 students. The department aims to enrich the knowledge of the students in the both theory and practice with expirences in the diversed streams of civil engineering.
It plays avital role in training the students through in-plant training and Industrial visits to overcome the field associated problems arising in the industry. The department actively involves in research activities nd industrial consultancy works with various firms and industriesn in and around the city. The department also organizes a number of technical events on latest advancements in civil engineering, every year for the upgraduation and enhancement of knowledge of the students.
The National level Technical symposium conducted by the departmentof Civil Engineering. The name of this symposium is derived from a italic monument called colosseum,and the main motto of our symposium is to trigger the technical intellectual skills present in the student community.
Every year our department is oraganizing this National Level symposium in a very grand manner for the benifit of student community. We here in the COLOSSEUM'20 rebuilt are exclusively conducting technical events like Paper Presentation, Technical Quiz, and other suprising Events. This symposium is an excellent ooputunity for all the syudents to exhibit their technical knowlwdge and win great prizes and it is a thought provoking event that lets all to learn many things about the current trends in Civil Engineering.
